Fungus? Slime mold? Sap? Possibly a Poached Egg?
Can anyone help to identify this? Seen on a fallen (corsican) pine in a wooded area of the Hampshire Downs. It had the size and shape of a poached egg. No discernible smell.



Curious thing - I want to say slime mold but I'm just plain old guessing!

Mystified of the South Downs.....

Hi British Red

You are correct with slime mould. It's Enteridium lycoperdon and very common on pine this time of year.
