Stereum
These Stereum were found in an ancient oak/beech woodland (now with some conifer). Neither showed signs of red when damaged

but this second one it might have been just because it was dried out

Hi Mal

Your second image looks like Peniophora quercina to me.

Did you not notice any hairs on the underside of the first species?
