| | | Myxomycetes from Anston Stones Anston Stones Wood 21 March 2009
Had great fun on a fallen tree trunk today, with lots of Myxo's.
There were lots of both these types growing separately, but alongside each other, which leads me to suspect that they are the same species, but at different stages. Anyone confirm, or otherwise. My guess would be a Metatrichia sp. with the colonization by another Myxomyceticolous sp.
There were only a few of these sp, but still on the same trunk.
My guess is that this is a Plasmodia.
Its great when you can find such a diversity, but better if you can explain what is happening. You help appreciated in telling the story.
Les
