| | | ID please, ball shaped and tree stump like fungus Hi, could someone please help me identify the following that I found today, the ball things looked exactly like snails from a distance. Both were growing on fallen trees.
The third one was identified as Daldinia concentrica yesterday by Lancashire Lad and tawnyman, thanks, Im pretty sure thats what it is now I have had a better look, there was more than one too... |

A view of the second species undersurface would help.

yes it is . . . and I would second Lycoperdon pyriforme
the Daldinia had better be called Daldinia sp. (check out recent posts about difficulties in this genus)
best wishes
