| | | My Fungi Photo In Finland's National Press I had a request by Finland's National Newspaper "Helsingin Sanomat" to use one of my fungi photo's to illustrate an article.
Cutting a long story short, the article was published today, and can be viewed at this web address: - Harvinaisesta sienest Turun kasvimuseon miljoonas nyte - HS.fi - Kotimaa
Unfortunately, it's all written in Finnish, so I haven't a clue what the story is about.
(Nice to see my photo published though).
Regards

| | | Re: My Fungi Photo In Finland's National Press I tried to using an online translator - but still couldn't! I'll post it if anyone wants - though it contains a fair few symbols... |

| | | Re: My Fungi Photo In Finland's National Press I just managed to get a partial translation from an online translator (Only first part of the article though): - TURKU. As the one millionth plant sample of the plant museum of the University of Turku it was drawn a lots to the collections on Friday among the plant which has waited for its turn see the lahohytynupikka (Ascocoryne cylichnium) which is not even a plant but a mushroom actually, 86.
The sample in question consists of dried spores in the bark piece in the envelope which have been collected in Inari of Lapland 2008 from the stub of the wound.
The sample which has got to the history does not look like anything right in the human eye because it does not see actually without the microscope.
Regards
Mike.

| | | Re: My Fungi Photo In Finland's National Press That makes a lot more sense than the odd thing my translator came up with! Thanks for that Mike! |

| | | Re: My Fungi Photo In Finland's National Press Thanks for the comments Jason, Ron, oxycera, & Pete. - I don't consider myself any great shakes when it comes to photography, and having any of my picture's available for view in arena's other than WAB, (and actually having been requested by a third party), is a very new experience for me.
As you say, It's very satisfying and encouraging. (At least it proves I must be getting things right a few times ).
Regards
