| | exidia / tremella? Help,
I seem to be going round in circles with this one - exidia glandulosa or tremella spp, possibly foliacea?
Foliacea seems best to me.
on dead willow I think.
I have a better pic if it will help - this one shows an old fruiting body (black) too, so I thought is was best at the moment!
Thanks a lot
Ken

| | | Re: exidia / tremella? hi Ken Tremella foliacea - I saw lots of this in the conifer plantations in the Chew Valley on my last sortie into Saddleworth - though not on conifer wood
cheers
Chris

| | | Re: exidia / tremella? Thanks a lot Chris - Jordan has this as rare, and that surprises me - but anyway, this is a first for me!
So this is one for your Yorkshire records too? Near Friezland horse arena, Greenfield.
And heres that better pic, too big for Gallery though!
Cheers
Ken

I've one that I walk past regularly, and it is a very good indication of how much rain we've had very recently, by it's colour and fleshiness.
It is apparently common and widespread according to the British checklist.

Ken | This is a great shot Ken - One that should definitely be in the Gallery.
Viewed at largest size, and clicking on the photo's properties gives a filesize of about 260Kb, and pixel dimensions of 1600 x 1200 - so this does comply with Gallery size requirements, and should upload without problem. (Maximum Gallery filesize is 1Mb, and maximum pixel size is 1600 x 1600).
If all else failed, (and I can't see any reason in this case why it should), you could always slightly downsize it.
Regards
Mike.

| | | Re: exidia / tremella? Cheers Mike - I will have a go again.
I shot this with Aperture priority macro for greater depth of field rather than just auto macro and it seems to use more detail and memory as you would expect, which caused the prob. And my canon software wouldnt downsize enough.
However I intend to load up picasa and use that tomorrow, so will try again.
It has been a litle pest recently for others shots too, but I will solve it!
