Here is one from Longshaw (20th September 2008) which unfortunately didn't go home for further examination
Any comments much appreciated

I was at longshaw on saturday but didn't find anything as interesting as this!

I had considered C. clavus but the jizz didn't quite fit. I have found this on smaller branches of beech and other broad leaved trees.
The pile of logs behind the estate is well worth a look at the moment and what looks like the first signs of St Georges mushroom down from the waxcap track as you walk towards the wooden pole car park.
