Does anyone agree with this being Mycena leucogala?
(got distracted and forgot to get the colour of the latex  ).

J. | You say you "forgot to get the colour of the latex". Does this mean you didn't actually see any and you just think it looks like M galopus var nigra (leucogala)  If there was "milk" then yes that is what you found if no milk was seen then there are others it might be. The M leucogala I have found have been darker than your specimen but with white milk there is nothing else it could have been

| | | Re: Mycena leucogala ID Thanks Mal - and I take your point, there's not much to go on. Unfortunately, one of my boys kicked snow on the camera and preoccupied with this, I didn't see what colour (if any) the latex was.
As I wanted to put a name to the photo, I was hoping that someone might agree with my ID however as there are other species that it could be, I guess we will never know. Unfortunate, but so be it.

When someone like Chris disagrees with an ID you listen. If he agrees with you it adds quite a bit of weight to your suggestion. So I am happy to get his confirmation of my thoughts.
