| | | identification of bbj fungi indentity for these big brown jobbies please
these were found back in sept 2006, growing in needle litter with ferns/bracken in a conifer plantation,
sorry no gill shots, as i failed to realise the importance of them , back when i found these in 06.
no1/ is this just a malformed Paxillus sp?? measured about 6 0r 7" across
no2/ this one were growing about 10ft away from the first one, and i assumed they were the same species? these were also 6 or 7" across
anyone got any views on these ??

that was back when i knew less about fungi than i do now(which aint hard to beat  )
with the size and colour of them , i just could not see what else they might have been, other than paxillus sp,
