Could anyone possibly narrow down the identity of this please?
Found today on a felled & barkless trunk section in predominantly Beech woodland.
The fungi towards the top of the photo appear to be forming pores on their undersides.
I may be way off the mark, but I'm wondering if this might be something like a group of newly forming
Trametes gibbosa (of which there are groups elsewhere in the wood).
Any potential ID's appreciated.
Regards
Mike.
EDIT - Just as an afterthought, maybe the scale might be useful - each individual was no more than about 10-15mm across.
