| | | Jelly Ear Substrates I thought I would just post a thread about seeing a jelly ear clump on a bamboo fence post at Chester Zoo. Is it normal for jelly ear to be on this? 
It looks like the bamboo post had been filled with another material. I'm not sure on any of this by the way |

if I may retrieve this thread from virulent and largely unwarranted KT-baiting
I think this is actually a rather intriguing record, I have checked and as far as I can see (so far) there are no records on bamboo for GB & I
it does - as we know - occur on a wide range of substrates, but these are (all?) dicots, so its occurrence on a monocot (indeed technically on a grass) is, I think, and as Stephen Fry might say "quite interesting"
