hmmm, that sounds strange to me. All the world tells that in Britain it's always raining - that's mushrooms paradise, isn't it?
What shall we say here, with our 420 mm of rain per year? There are years the first fungi after morels appear in end of october ....

Andreas | I think your cynicism is well-founded. The environment always trails way behind other interests. If there is a blip in the economy, pressure on agriculture, demands for housing, runways, demands for biofuels etc, then good intentions that were already on a very small scale get trimmed back further, becoming merely rhetoric not even action. To use a colloquial phrase (which the auto-censor might object to) in terms of protecting the environment at the moment we are really just peeing in the wind ....
