Yellow Hygrocybe are notoriously difficult to identify without lots of research and a microscope - ask SheffieldLass Melanie
The last one looks to me much more likely to be something like Hygrocybe miniata. H. cantharellus has quite deeply deccurent gills I think, and gills like that would show on the angle you've photographed them at. I'm unsure though |

| | | Re: some hygrocybes ? Hallo,
I completely agree with Nick in all he said.
The chlorophana seems a little too tiny, but that's one which is easy to determine by microscope, at least when you don't believe in species like flavescens/euroflavescens. I would put H. ceracea into the (never solved) discussion.
The third might also be H. reidii due to the overall orange colour, but certainly not cantahrellus.
best regards,
Andreas Quote:

| | | Re: some hygrocybes ? I'd agree with Andreas ... with the second one, although the gills can't be seen, the stature has a Hygrocybe ceracea look to it, but only a microscope check would confirm.
And again with the third, I'd agree, definitely not cantharellus, but yes, perhaps H reidii. You didn't sniff that one by any chance? H reidii smell of honey.

yea after looking at some reidii's and i'm sure it did have a sweet smell' i'll have to agree with you and Andreas that it's a H. reidii, the gold one I will see if I can find any more when there out later in the year and get some better photos and details | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
