Not sure what tree it is but stereum hirsutum could be a possibility for the fungus?
Or is phlebia radiata a possibility. It looks very similar to a sample I found on New Years day |

| | | Re: Phlebia radiata / Stereum hirsutum The latter I think has the characteristics of a Phlebia but the one in the tree is pretty dodgy.
