Well followed up and depicted Vix, I would be interested to know if someone could tell us if the white deposits in the second image was evidence of sporulation or something else.

I assumed it was spores - since the pic on the tree above shows a white mass on and beneath the brackets... but would be interested to find out exactly what it is!

Just briefly picking up on what David said about white deposits, it reminded me of a photograph that I took in the field of a Polyporus with white deposits - only these deposits were moving
