Pretty sure it's a Lactarius. The stem looks spot on- hollow but thick and appearing brittle. Smaller specimen has characteristically tapered stipe. Not sure about species, but pretty sure on Genus. I think you might be able to see small droplets of latex. Edit; Not latex but grit, but ID suggestion remains!
