| | | 2 Beechwood fungi for ID please I would appreciate a little help with these two please. Sorry didn't measure, smell or do anything else I was supposed to do, but maybe they look distinctive to somebody
Both taken yesterday in beech woodland in the Buckinghamshire Chilterns.
This was growing on a moss covered fallen log (probably beech)
and this colony was growing high up a beech tree (sorry not much detail of this one)
also saw some wonderful Oysters - at least I could ID some of the fungi myself
thanks for any help with the identities

The Velvet Shank looks like, not so sure on the Mycena pelianthina though. According to the Collins Guide it should have crimson black edges to it's gills, which doesn't seem to fit. But it does look close - so I guess a Mycena sp. |
