Small brown Fungi to ID

Can anybody ID this little Toadstool/Fungi please? i found it earlier this after noon over at Storton's pits, it was only about an Inch across

Most likely a Galerina, but without a gill shot, you'll never be close to knowing it

With myself knowing next to nothing about Fungi, i didn't realise that some can only be Identified by the Gills, at the present moment i cannot tell one from Fungi from another, well i can but i dont know what they are, but at least today i have learnt a usefull lesson, and from now on if i do come across any, then i shall attempt to photograph both the Top & the Gills.

Definitely a good idea Steve. It's a daunting subject but as you say, you'll become very familiar with certain processes that are necessary to help an ID.
