| | front n back fungus check These two greet me when I go outside - the front has this one appearing on tarmac, next to mossy lawn and its been there for a few months.
Previous similar thread queries think something similar may be an exidia spp or tremella with an algal bloom. Any ideas out there? Its very floppy yet brittle, but mis-shapenand jelly-ish - but theres no wood substrate about, so its a problem for those I think.
This one I am fairly happy with, growing out of old damp mortar in a stone wall at the back of the house (not the house!) - peziza domiciliana - let me know if thats a big cock up by me, ta.
cheers
Ken

Cheers J.P. | Thanks alot JP, touch of genius there - yes, Nostoc it is and quite interesting too via google. The area is a very wet place, with a high water table, which no doubt accounts for its presence!
I only noticed the Peziza yesterday after the frosts had gone - I am now waiting for a bit of sun to light it up for a better photo. (I wish).
A shard that broke off when examining was about 2'' by 1'' and has now dried and shrivelled up to less than a quarter that -just shows how much water content we all have.
Thanks again
Ken
