| | | Boletus bother I`m not getting far with these from October. Any ideas?
The first one was growing in grass probably Rhododendron not far away, cap dia about 60mm
The second one was a little bigger and under pine
and the third one also close to Rhododendron but smaller cap about 40mm

So the consensus is that they are all the same species, notwithstanding variations in pore/stem colour?
I`ll be looking next year to see if I can spot the yellow stem base. I never have any success in the smelling of fungi, (poor sense of small I suppose), and I`m not confident enough to try a taste test but might give it a go if I find this one again.
This fungus is another example of a common fungus not covered by every guide, (not in Michael Jordan).
