Can't seem to pin down a positive ID

| | | Re: Beech stump Fungi for ID The fungi of your first post, now with the gill shot .... possibly one of the Hypholomas? Hypholoma lateritium (also known as H sublateritium) maybe? It can be found on beech. Interesting to see what the spore colour is, the gills look as if they might be browning. Bruising was possibly the loss of the veil to expose the cap better?

| | | Re: Beech stump Fungi for ID Hmm, the last two pictures you've provided David look like they show two separate species. The first looks just like a Galerina as you say, but the second looks more substantial. Very interesting- lovely specimens |

The spore print from the first collected specimen appears to be hyaline.
