If it's that determined to stay anonymous Vix, then I'm afraid an ID is going to be difficult without more descriptive information regarding characteristics and environment.
The WAB Gallery set up is such that the quickest way to convert 'unidentified' to 'indentified' is to re-load into the fungi section of the main Gallery using any confirmed name details you manage to glean.

It was nestled in the leaves about 3 feet from the edge of a lake, quite shaded under hawthorn trees and oaks... Other than that, not sure what other info would help!

overgrown... Cortinarius crassus perhaps?
Closest thing I can find but the spores inside on the pix I have seen of the ordinary one look different! |
