| | | Help with bracket from September This one has been bugging me since September- when I found it, I though it was probably Laetiporus sulphureus but looking back at it, I think it's probably something else. Something else due to the 'hepatic' staining on it, the size of it and the way it was growing on quite a small stick.
I honestly have nothing to say about it apart from that it was about 100mm in length and less than half that in width. It was growing on what I think was a small Beech stick.
I appreciate that due to the serious lack of information, I may not even get a genus, but it's worth throwing it in the WAB mix to see what people make of it.
All comments and suggestions appreciated,
Nick |

If you had been watching recent postings you might have seen discussions about Hapalopilus rutilans Try that.

| | | Re: Help with bracket from September It was a previous image of Hapalopilus rutilans taken by Nettlerunner Les that made me think of it. Just looked on t'web and it looks good!
What's the distribution status may I ask?
Thanks Mal
EDIT; Just checked in Phillips and the current synonym is Hapalopilus nidulans - Listed as 'occasional'. |

| | | Re: Help with bracket from September Nick, while looking through my copy of Jordans in search of an id for a bracket,
i saw the picture of Phellinus pomaceus (p114) and remembered you had posted a id request for similar looking one to it ,
i dont know if its anywhere near to yours, but probably worth a look at,
Brian. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
