Think these are (slightly icy) Velvet Shank Flammulina velutipes, and would again appreciate confirmation/other. Found today, predominantly Beech woodland.

yeah i agree too - all mine have died on me  - too cold i think

That's odd Leif, they are designed to survive the winter! They're renowned for being more abundant and robust in the colder seasons. The stipes are very tough but these beautiful mushrooms are actually very nice in an antipasti or mushroom mix- once the glutinous layer is removed  |
