Three different 'script' lichens needing help!

One apple trunk, three different-looking 'script' lichens, Graphis and/or Graphina?

1. All three......


2. Graphis elegans?


3. The other two.....could the upper left pale squiggly-lined one be Graphina anguina? As to the other

This is definitely where I'm completely out of my depth. I think script lichens are brilliant. Unfortunately, Perthshire is just not oceanic enough for loads of graphids, so I didn't get the benefit of the experts on this group.

My impression though is that Opegrapha atra is pretty common, and therefore worth getting to know. I've put a photograph of a couple of graphids in the Gallery. I took this by the side of Llyn Gywnant in North Wales last year in one of the remnants of ancient atlantic sessile oak woodland.

The upper graphid is Opegrapha atra, and the lower one is most likely Phaeographis inusta. The lichen with brownish rounded apothecia is Lecanora chlarotera.

You certainly have a wonderful abundance of lichens. Am envious.
