| | | Return of the Slime Mould (for ID.) Took & posted these pics on 24th November: -
I thought it might possibly be Brefeldia maxima, but was advised (CapAndBracket) to return and get a later pic of ther same mould.
Managed to get back to the site yesterday 29th November, and got these pics of the same specimen: -
Appreciate that a positive ID will still be unlikely, but thought these extra pics might just be a pointer.
Regards

| | Re: Return of the Slime Mould (for ID.) its a new classification and of a subspecies too - its specific to norfolk shingle beaches, on snow bunting poo in winter, so you should have known it wasnt yours mike, in deepest lanky.

Mike. | Now it reminds me of this which had us head scratching at the end of August.
The best match i could come up with is Tubifera ferruginosa, not many in
the book reach this size. (but microscopy to be sure).

| | | Re: Return of the Slime Mould (for ID.) I should point out it's not my photo, someone posted it as a query
(their name is on the image).
The book (Stephenson + Stempen) describes this species as growing on
wood or leaf litter, can be greater than 15cm across.
