the colour of the gills and the stipe suggest Laccari sp, the larger cap measures approx 60mm diam,
the small pale one was growing under the cap of the larger one(see the dark mark on gills to left of pictue)would that account for difference in colour of caps?)
any suggestions ??

it certainly looks like a Laccaria and almost certainly laccata
but - and you're gonna hate me for saying this - to be absolutely sure you need to check the spores . . .

thanks Chris, must start to keep some samples for future reference and confirmation reasons! (once i get the microscope sorted)
