| | | Can anyone help identify this fungi please? Hi everyone
I found this fungi in a plant pot in the garden this morning and no matter where I look on the internet, I can't find it!
Any ideas anyone? |

Any ideas anyone? | It's probably a Conocybe species but without much more information I can't say more.

| | | Re: Can anyone help identify this fungi please? Looks like Conocybe to me too Galerina marginata is a good call David, but I wouldn't expect to see such a prominent ring evident. G. marginata as I've seen it in the field and on the 'net, has vague ring remains. Unsure though, mushrooms like this a blank patch in my mind! |

| | | Re: Can anyone help identify this fungi please? Conocybe for me too; it looks to be in the C. arrhenii, C. hadrocystis area (that knocks it down to half a dozen species)
here is hadrocystis, but as FungiJohn indicates its a "spores and cystidia" job
cheers
Chris

| | | Re: Can anyone help identify this fungi please? WOW! Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated. I've had a look at Conocybe, but there are so many and they all look alike!!!!
I've tried snapping the stalk (sorry, probably incorrect terminology) in half and it's black inside. The flesh doesn't seem to change colour or bruise and it smells of fresh mushrooms. Spores? Don't know where to start here!
