| | Giant Dung fungus OK so it's all relative, it's only a centimetre across but so is the Roe Deer dropping it is growing out of - here is recycling in action on a grand scale
The fungus is Peziza fimeti (in view of a parallel thread where Poison Pie has been discussed, I'm tempted to call it Treacle Tart!!  )
The shot of the ascus tips shows excellent blueing of the tips in Lugol's Iodine (and also that the latter stain works virtually as well as Melzer's)
