i found this white fungi on oak log with a Mycena sp? any clues on this one??

Thanks for that, i had thought that, but the cup like parts made me think it was more likely to be a fungi,
Lichens are something i know even less about than fungi  , would the cup like stalks be the flowering part of the lichen ?

Hi Brian, I am with JP on this about the white fungi - it is actually lichen - probably one of the Cladonia Sp  . |

its bad enough me getting the real fungi wrong, with out getting mixed up with lichens now
