Help with an ID please.

Well thank you all for your comments, Latin to common and visa versa it is one big mine field that some one with such little knowledge as myself feels slightly intimidated about venturing into.
So many variants on one type, and "you feel you can only ask for IDs" a certain amount of times.
Thank you all for your time and comments all of which are gratefully received.

It's one of the Kingfisher Field Guide series published in 2001 and brought up to date with hand written amendments in my copy.

"Size is the least useful character for identifying a fungus and colour the next least useful" (it's possibly the other way round, but still - )

(of course the size thing is referring to macro-characters . . .
