| | | Help with ID please I found a small group of these next to a very busy road/footpath on a river bank. Growing in bare earth. Couldn't photograph them in situ. Hope these are clear. Cap is about 30mm across.
Maybe tricholoma?

| | | Re: Help with ID please A little ambitious KT, but the cap pattern is similar. I've had good word that this is probably Tricholoma- the dark gill edges may be typical of a species that I've not seen. |

When I first saw it I thought Pholiota too - but it seems to key out to Tricholoma. White spore print by the way. Two candidate species (I've only seen in photos) might be Pardinum or Atrosquamosum. |

I think you are very close with atrosquamosum that dark gill edge is very distinctive (you get that feature in T. sciodes as well, but your find is definitely not that)
