| | | Psathyrella ID Please! ARRGGGHHHHHHH! I hate this genus
Please somebody enlighten me as to what this is. The violaceous hues shown in the images are very accurate and not over saturated in the photograph. Didn't take any of these home as I knew I'd end up smashing something in fury
No distinct smell and I didn't taste it, so loads to go on
Growing in mixed woodland, and many of them to be seen. I apologise for the slight blur in the image but it was a very dark day and long exposures in leaf litter are difficult
Well I presume they're Psathyrella anyway!
All help and comments much appreciated!

Nick | I think until we have a decent, up to date monograph to this genus complete with quality illustrations, we are in the same Psathyrella boat dear chap. I nice, graceful, though sadly neglected genus I'm afraid.

I've had good word that this is possibly Mycena pelianthinum!
Any takers? |

| | | Re: Psathyrella ID Please! I'm way out of my depth here, but I thought I'd post a couple of Yves Deneyer's photos of this Mycena for comparison. The gills don't look right to me. Come to that neither does the stipe. I'm happy to be proved wrong (again). |

| | | Re: Psathyrella ID Please! Having said that BROCSMAN, with that recent find of Tricholoma (I'm heading to that thread in a sec mate !) you ought to be an expert on fungi with dark gill edges!
I agree though- both gills and attachments don't look correct. Will inform my source and see what he thinks- I personally am swayed towards the initial genus ID of Psathyrella. |
