| | | First proper fungi hunt Hello i am going out for my first serious fungi hunt in the morning the main point is to build up a nice portfolio of images so therefore it is a photography hunt, ive had a tip off from a chap at work who lives near me that a small patch of damp woodland 300yards from my home holds good amounts of fungi
as he sees these on his morning dog walk so any tips for my trip would be a great help, also what is a good starter book to understanding fungi i will update this thread after the hunt.
Thanks mick. |

| | | Re: First proper fungi hunt Hi Mick,
Your first is the ever-popular Amanita muscaria - commonly known as the Fly Agaric.
Second is interesting!
Third is the same as the first
The last is Laccaria laccata.
For a higher chance of ID, it's a very good idea to photograph the gills and note and smells or other significant factors noticed.
Other that that, lovely photos and I hope you enjoyed your outing |

| | | Re: First proper fungi hunt Looks like it mate
Just looked in the archive and it's not a thumbnail problem. The same image has been uploaded twice so you might want to have another go at uploading the one that was replaced by the duplicate If you've got any trouble doing so, just shout, but you seem to have uploaded t'others just fine!
