Sorry to disappoint but I don't think it is. VS normally has a very viscid cap when fresh and a dark brown almost black velvet stipe neither of which show on your find. I think more likely Pholiota.
Just look at the caps on Dogghound's post

Gymnopilus sp. on a conifer stump (note pine needles)

nomenclature confused in this group (see some previous threads) it's in the area of G. penetrans and a couple of very similar taxa . . .
