| | | Help with ID please I have just joined and am desparate for some help from others who will know more than I. I have recently taken quite a few pics of fungi and I'm having difficulty identifying them. I am a novice and comparing pics on this and other sites and in books is not as easy as I once thought it would be.
Can someone confirm how I go about adding a pic to a query please? As I understand it, I add the new thread and then there will be a code given, then I can upload my pic giving this code with the listing of it. Have I got it right? :-)
Then I should be able to add to my 'Own Pics' and/or ' Gallery' with the appropriate correct ID.
Many thanks in anticipation. |

| | | Re: Help with ID please Upload your pics to the WAB Image Library (where you don't need to wait for moderator's approval). Then by copying the forum code from underneath your image submission you can include it in a new thread on the fungi forum asking for help with the ID. Include as much detail about the specimen and the environment where it was found for improving the odds on getting a correct steer towards the right species.
Welcome to WAB

| | | Re: Help with ID please Hi - I click " Gallery" and then "Upload photos" and I upload to the imaging library. Then you can view "Image library" when writing your post. Find the image and click on it to add.

| | | Re: Help with ID please Many thanks for that .... just as well I asked as I was on the wrong track! I was afraid I couldn't upload to the Image Library until I knew the correct description.
This will be fun for all I think .... I am such a novice that I don't know the common names, let alone the official ones.
Thanks for the advice - will try asap, with fingers crossed :-) |

| | | Re: Help with ID please Hi Tally
Having successfully submitted your images to the Image Library if you now view each one it will reveal a Forum Code which can be copied and pasted into a posting on any forum like so:
(N.B. The images you have posted are a bit on the small side)
Hope this helps

P.S. If you don't have any reference books yet check out the A to Z on this Website: http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fungi/common-names
or the online version of Roger Phillips "Mushrooms" which is a highly recommended work of reference when starting out: http://www.rogersmushrooms.com
