| | | Ongar Park Wood Fungi Hurrah, got out and about looking for fungi today at last, here are a few that I saw:
Fungus A
This one I am fairly sure is a Clitocybe but I can't really pin down which one. Camera has washed out the gills and stipe a little - they are definitely apricot toned. There was lots of Clitocybe nebularis in the area but this looked a lot different - peach/apricot in colour. Growing under oak and some lime.
Fungus B
this one very close by to Fungus A and I am keying it out to Entoloma or Marasmius but have to say not 100% convinced by those so maybe I've gone wrong somewhere?
Fungus C
This one growing under hornbeam at the edge of the wood. I thought Pluteus perhaps?
Fungus D
Again under hornbeam. I think this one might be Russula claroflava as there was the odd birch around and the gill spacing looks about right.
Fungus E
Well I know this is Amanita muscaria but thought I'd include it since it's so cute
Fungus F
Not sure about this one at all. Again keying out to Entoloma but doesn't seem right. Another thought that it might be a past its sell by date Lepista as the stem looks a bit like that?
Fungus G
Spotted this Phallus impudicus in the hedgerow and was fascinated by the sponge-like stipe. Took it off to show Mr Morchella, saying here's a stinkhorn with the stinky bits washed off by rain. He picked it up and sniffed it - not all washed off! Not off my hands either - lesson learnt
Anyway would appreciate any help on the ones I'm not sure about

| | | Re: Ongar Park Wood Fungi Okay, I've clicked the images and although they have no thumbnails, they are in the Archive.
Your number one is Lepista flaccida.
Two- Possibly Entoloma as you say.
Three - Collybia butyracea.
Four - Either R. claroflava or R. ochroleuca
Five - I agree with the suggestion of Lepista. L. sordida perhaps?
Nice A. muscaria, and yes, don't pick up P. impudicus

| | | Re: Ongar Park Wood Fungi Yes, it all went a bit haywire when I was uploading the second lot - uploaded the first ones twice and now have no thumbnails. Any idea how to fix this? |
