for what its worth I think the first one is very like Inonotus radiatus . . . seems to have a hint of that lovely sheen - was it on Alder by any chance?
the second one is a Mycena indeed - that purplish sheen on the stem and the cap colour are reminiscent of M. arcangeliana (= M. oortiana of older books)

| | | Re: Fungi id Definitely a contender Chris. The substrate would help to ascertain what we're looking at. I think this looks rather like an old Oak, but I'm probably wrong!
Of course if you can pop back and apply a little thumb pressure on the pores- wait 5 mins and see if it goes nice and rosy, you're likely to have D. confragosa. |
