| | | Re: Fungi ID Please Hi Kymba Nice to see you
Your first image is of Amanita muscaria. It's just that the spots have been washed off. A common find in Birch and Pine woodland. Less likely to be found with Beech, but often is.
The second, Clitocybe nebularis. Very common in the main season.
The beautifully delicate species growing on the woodchip is likely to be Coprinus lagopus. A very lovely group with much elegance
Hope that'll do!

| | | Re: Fungi ID Please No1: Amanita muscaria.
No2: Clitocybe nubularis
No 3+4 a troop of coprinus, look to be on woodchip
Possibly Coprinus lagopus.

| | | Re: Fungi ID Please Cheers Guys. Have written that down and will get my class to research them on Wednesday.
Yes the last one is very dainty and delicate and it is growing in wood chip from some branches we had to cut and were chiped and put into the woods for wildlife to live in.
Is this a good time of year for lots of fungi to be found ? As i was thinking if it is we will do a project on it this term.

| | | Re: Fungi ID Please Ideally, you might have been better doing it a month ago before the frosts hit (which leads to a decline in species ). BUT!!! and that's a big but, there are lots of things still out there
I say do it Kym. It's a fantastic thing to study and it's very fascinating. I can confirm that the fact that I was educated about it when I was a toddler, is the factor that led to me becoming so enthused about it today.

Nick | Cheers Nick. Its is something i know very little ( almost nothing ) about but something i really want to learn more about, so it will be a great project for both me and the children.
