| | | Entoloma sp? I found this again at my grandmas. They were growing in a small patch of mature silver birches. They were well camouflaged against the leaf litter but I managed to get some together
They didn't seep any milk so weren't lactarius. They didn't smell of anything in particular - even from the gills. None of the mushroom "blushed"
Older specimens were quite flat. but younger ones were very dome shaped.
looking at lot like the shape of these mycenas in GerryNick's pic |

| | | Re: Entoloma sp? There is a possibility these are extremely water-logged Clitocybe dealbata.
As with a lot of Agarics, when they are full of water the colour is very different.

| | | Re: Entoloma sp? I think they are Lactarius due to the fact that the stem has the blotches of liquid present. Not many species show this. Plus, the cap does look very ' Lactariusy'
Not all Lactarius exude lots of milk. Some don't secrete much at all, even after gill cutting.
EDIT; Just looked at the second photo and I'm backing up my suggestion with something
Look at the thickness and texture of the stem flesh (of the toppled specimen on the right). How many genuses have flesh like that? |

| | | Re: Entoloma sp? It was that white frost like sheen on the cap of front left which made me think of C.dealbata.
I'm probably pushing my luck, but 'nothing ventured .......'
