| | | orange fungi identification found these specimens in grass at side of footpath , with birch and young pines close by, cap approx 20mm across , stem 50mm tall,
cant find a match with this cap colour/stem colour combination ,
nearly overlooked them as there were a group of similar coloured waxcaps close by,it was the stem colour that made me look closer,

| | | Re: orange fungi identification Hi John, Thanks for that quick id , after your suggestion i did a google search for galerina,
i was amazed at the number of different species there are ,(Phillips and Jordans books only scratch the surface!) but even then i did not find one that matched the ones i found, so i think it will have to stay as Galerina sp.
i did take the uprooted one for a sample, but the lid came of my box and it got crushed in the bottom of the bag , so that put paid to any further info from it
