| | Honey Fungus? I'm 99% certain this is Armillaria mellea - Honey Fungus but the gills seem closer together on mine than the main example in the WAB Gallery.. see Honey Fungus

Another Armillaria species? | No Nick, I had it in my head it was Honey Fungus before I picked it, but I've never eaten it before, so I wanted to clear any doubts to ensure a positive ID before tasting a portion.
The problem is the images on the internet for Armillaria mellea are very varied indeed, and the WAB Gallery example seems to have wider spaced gills.
But the match is positive even if it is a tad old.
The small scales in the centre of the cap, and the ring, together with other identifying features I see on your examples too tWITCH. |
