| | | id mushroom please
Sorry about the lack of info. I didnt cut it to see if it changed colour and didnt check the smell
They where growing on a dead tree and the trees in the immediate area are mainly oak and silver birch.
The soil is acid not far from a heather moor ie peaty soil
I have had a look in my guide and im guessing at some sort of mycena.
Am i any where near?
regards mark
although you cant see from the photo the caps had small concave dimples in the centre

| | | re: id mushroom please Please accept my apologies after looking at the photos again im wondering if the mushrooms are the same species. The single one looks like the cap is darker.
The main cluster on the tree where growing about two feet up from the ground.
The single one was lying on the ground at the base of the tree and i just presumed it had fallen from the cluster. I didnt pick it from the main group.

| | | re: id mushroom please You're correct with Mycena Mark, so you're doing well. I'll refer to some literature and get back to you re: species. That's if someone doesn't beat me to it |

| | | re: id mushroom please it could be M. inclinata because they all seem to converging into one place. It would probably be a good Idea to cut open the wood and see if this is the case.
(there's me trying to sound clever) |
