| | | Mini shroom ID question. Hi
I found a few of these little chaps growing on rotting oak in the woodpile, they were scattered not clustered like M. inclinata. Cap 2mm across, stem 20mm, fibrous. Gills are white and appear to be free although it's so small it's hard to tell.
Any thoughts?

I think you're right with Mycena inclinata, though it would be impossible to say so 100%. Reflecting upon FJ's excellent image, you can see the blue tinge that the adolescent specimens house;

| | | Re: Mini shroom ID question. Cheers Nick,
You're not wrong, that is a cracking picture.
I was put off M. inclinatus because all the pictures I could find show a brown cap even on the young specimens and these were very pale (the colour in the picture is pretty accurate). I can't think of any alternatives though. I'll have another look tomorrow to see if there are any more mature examples.
("Eve' Steve" indeed  )

| | | Re: Mini shroom ID question. I wasn't doubting your suggestion in the slightest, in fact you are Mr. Mycena as far as I'm concerned. Not doubting, nor asking for you to pull others ID apart, just trying to avoid further confusion for myself. |

| | | A more mature specimen I've just had another look and found this one, hope it helps. Approximately 15mm tall.
