| | | is this a Psathyrella sp ??? i found this in a clearing in a mixed wood, in a group of approx sixty or so,
i think it is a Psathyrella sp, but not to sure?
i did look at Panaeolus ,but could not get a good match,any suggestions???

thanks for the pointer, i had a look in both Phillips and Jordans , but neither one has it listed!!,
a search on the web produced loads,which had me more confused for a while,
but after sifting through them, most seemed to fit all the characteristics of those i found, so i will go for that with a "maybe" attached ,

Brian | Yes, [i]Psathyrella/I] are notoriously difficult and without the one and only monograph on the genus plus laborious microscope work, practically impossible. I have a fondness for the genus and look forward to seeing an easy to use, comprehensive, up too date monograph with good colour pics. I do believe there is one planned by E. Arnolds, whether this will be in English though is another matter.
