what's your favourite fungi? feel free to place any photos in this thread.

Doesn't matter if it's honey fungus, fly agaric or orange jelly.

Waiting for my Rhodotus palmatus to be approved and then i'll add the image. Something that has been on my list for ages, but escaped sight. Until Sunday that is, when we found it.

Photo to come.

There are fungi that I do always love seeing. These include Stropharia aeruginosa, Russula sardonia and any interesting Bolete.

Had a blinding find about half an hour ago. Phaeolepiota aurea

I'd quite like to find the elusive Boletus satanas.

I probably have a cat in hell's chance (but I do have a tendency to set off into the deepest, inaccessible parts of woods, to the consternation of my other half, who, after a stern look, follows dutifully 10 paces behind, cursing under his breath

- so you never know).

I probably will but this is my first season of mycology, and most of the mushrooms I find are difficult mycenas, russulas and psathyrellas. and most have been in bad nick because of slugs etc. It was great to see a large mushroom in such good condition because its a bad year for the bigger stuff

THIS IS BIG BROTHER

I notice when I click on your 'Verdigris Agaric' you have it under the name of S. caerulea - did you mean to put 'aeruginosa' as this is what the Verdigris Agaric is.

Blue Roundhead (which yours could be) is the new common name given to 'caerulea'

As a result of this relapse, BIG BROTHER

has no choice, but to deny you all Mars bars for the rest of the week.
