| | Shrub Pot Mushroom Hmm. I thought I posted this.. must have hit preview instead of submit
This was growing in my mother's garden in a large pot with a shrub... and it was the largest of three mushrooms.
It has a biege cap changing to white on the edges. approx 40mm diameter, smell mushroomy.
Any and all pointers welcomed |

| | | Re: Shrub Pot Mushroom Thanks Neil, that has helped, and my best visual match is Tricholoma fumosoluteum a non-native species!!
A similar photo.. Tricholoma fumosoluteum
Also using the mushroom expert key (for North America) I came to the same species Key to Tricholoma in North America
Obviously I need to give this a more thorough check, and identify the shrub and perhaps it's country of origin.
What is the procedure if it is a non-native species, does it need to be reported? |

| | | Re: Shrub Pot Mushroom If it was in a flower pot it is entirely feasible you could have a new species, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions.
For starters it may not be a Tricholoma at all, and also you will have needed to go through the entire British list of Tricholoma's before you begin to think 'new species'
Best to hang on to see if there are comments from anybody else.

I looked through my collection of 228 photos of various Tricholoma downloaded from the web (internationally) and it was the best match, but I'll fill the gaps for the UK and get a better sample.
Anybody else got any more "local" suggestions | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
