| | | Check ID - possibly clouded funnel?
Hi all. I'm new on here. Went on a foray last week at Thorp perrow near Bedale North Yorks, and then went out on my own today in my locale and found loads of these unknown fungi - up to 12cm diameter - beige/grey cap - white/cream gills - bulbous stem no ring - slight citrus smell - pine needle ground base - part of a huge troop (couple of hundred!) in a ring approx 15 meters diameter. I'm thinking Clouded Funnel (Clitocybe Nebularis). Has anyone experience of eating these as it seems they may be edible with caution? |

I had some Trooping Funnel (clitocybe geotropa) last week (picked at Thorp Perrow Arboretum on an organised foray - around 20 different types of fungi collected by the group though not all edible!), just simply fried in butter & olive oil. Tasty and I am still around to relate the tale though I believe some people may have adverse reaction. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
