pleurotus dryinus maybe ????????

sorry everyone - its that time of year - is this the veiled oyster?
Couldnt spot a veil, but all were slightly past their best, so it might have gone.
VERY slight aniseedy smell, but so, so, mushroomy too.
4 or 5, growing through a stone wall, with old deciduous trees and hawthorn hedge aboveand behind the wall.
help!

Precisely, P. dryinus has more decurrent gills and also is a more dirty white.

Was this actually attached to a tree and growing out of the wall or growing in accumulated dirt in the wall. ?

not to a tree - from muck in the wall -a very old (was) dry stone wall, with the field/hedge behind at the same height as the wall top.
