I'm pretty sure - lots of them around in the New Forest today - maybe a few less now!  
Don't think it can be anything else but would be grateful for confirmation.

Yes, Hydnum repandum (Hedgehog mushroom). It's been a good year for them. I got my first load in the middle of June. Here is a basket from this weekend...  |

I find all of mine in the New Forest, so there must be some near you. Habitat is difficult to pin down. I know that they like acidic soil in mixed woodland, but I have found them with all sorts of trees - beach, oak and pine. |
